Description:

It is said that during the reign of Sher Shah in 1540-45 AD, the entire Rajnagar area belonged to his kingdom. Later, the name Rajnagar originated from his naming. In 1580 AD, in the absence of Bhanu Narayan, his eldest son Subid Narayan was anointed as the king of this kingdom through inheritance. His wife Aparupa 'Kamla' Rani had 5 sons and 3 daughters. Prajavatsal, the social reformer King Subid Narayan dreams one night that a pond is to be dug in his area. As seen in the dream, the Queen presented a gold necklace to the donor who touched the ground with a spade on the first day of digging the Dighi.

Dighi's area is estimated to be 12 acres 12 bigha 12 poa 12 chhatka. King Subid Narayan was surprised to see that the dighi was not full in water after the digging of the dighi was completed. After a few days, the king saw again in his dream that if Kamala Rani worships Goddess Ganga in Dighi, the water will rise and the dighi will be filled with water. The queen agreed as the king said. According to the decision of the pundits, as soon as the queen stepped into the lake to complete the puja, the water began to rise. Once Kamala Rani drowned in water. Legend has it that due to the late arrival of Rani's parents, Goddess Ganga again floated Rani on the water for some time. When the king is saddened by the loss of the queen, he dreams one night that the queen is telling the king that she will bring my two children to the ghat every day at sunrise. I will make them drink milk. But the condition is that you cannot touch me for 12 years. Then you'll get me back. According to the queen, every day the king came to the bank of Dighi with two children and the queen used to breastfeed the children. The king observed the queen from a distance. One day the king lost patience. The king grabbed the hem of the queen's sari. At that Rani jumped into the Dighi and kept saying I will not stay in the Dighi anymore. Soon after this a boat floated up. The king saw the queen in the boat and started shouting Kamala. Then Rani kept saying I am leaving this lake. At that time the floating boat also sank under the water. Since then the King has not seen Kamala Rani. Later, the king also disappeared due to grief. No one knows the condition of the king's two children in the pages of history. Legend has it that two of the king's sons died shortly after Kamala Rani's disappearance. This story of Kamala Rani is still in people's mouths like a historical story.

Curious Visitor Located on the western side of this lake lies Shah Qutb Uddin (RA), one of the traveling companions of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and one of the 360 Auliyas. Devotees gather from all over the country for the Mubarak pilgrimage to his shrine. There is a Jame Masjid, shrine office and designated prayer space for women on the outer side of the shrine. Adequate means of completing unfinished business and campaigning are not becoming feasible. Moreover, the ruins of an ancient structure on the banks of Kamala Rani's Dighire Dni are a monument to the reign of King Subid Narayan, and today the monument is in a complete state of disrepair. The architectural style of the Mul Ghat has disappeared as it has been newly constructed using modern technology on the western bank. The size of the original ghat and the number of steps were also much higher than the present ghat. Hazrat Shah Qutb Uddin (RA) Annual Jalsa is held on 6 Falgun. A large number of religious devotees and devotees flock to the Jalsa. He is allegedly carrying out fish farming planned by UK expatriate Qadir Mia. A lot of fish are produced every year.

Khadem of the Dargah of Hazrat Shah Qutb Uddin (RA) said that King Subid Narayan probably converted to Islam after the death of Kamala Rani. On the west bank of the Dighi are the ruins of the tombs of the king and his two sons. Many historical traditions are carried on by the so-called Kamala Rani Dighi and Mazar Sharif of Hazrat Shah Qutb Uddin (RA).
